Verifying rental companiesEvery rental company on MoviQ is verified during onboarding: ID of the legal representative, VAT number with a compatible business activity code, and third-party liability insurance on the vehicles. Verified rental companies carry a badge on their listing.Verifying customersOn first access we ask for a valid email (confirmation link) and a phone number (SMS code). Rental companies see this information only after you confirm a booking. Your driving licence and documents are shown directly at pickup — they never pass through us.Insurance and depositsEach rental company declares during onboarding that it holds valid liability coverage on the vehicles it lists. Checking that the coverage is valid at the time of the rental remains the customer's responsibility and can be requested from the rental company before pickup. Additional coverage (collision, theft, excess reduction) and deposit handling are entirely decided by the rental company, according to the terms of its own rental contract.MoviQ does not block amounts on the customer's card, does not operate escrow, and does not intervene in any way in the handling of security deposits or excesses.PaymentsPayment for the rental happens directly between customer and rental company, using the methods the rental company accepts — card (Visa/MC/Amex/Maestro), bank transfer, or cash up to the legal limit. MoviQ does not collect, process or block payments on behalf of the rental company.MoviQ's role if something goes wrongMoviQ is an informational intermediation platform: it is NOT a party to the rental contract. Disputes relating to the rental — car unavailable at pickup, damage, accidents, payment disputes, service quality — must be handled directly between you and the rental company, according to the terms of the relevant contract and the applicable law.You can report serious incidents to support@moviq.it: we will use the report solely for moderation and service-quality purposes (e.g. deciding whether the rental company stays on the platform). MoviQ does not offer mediation, arbitration or legal assistance, and does not guarantee operational response times on disputes between user and rental company.For disputes with a rental company you may turn to the alternative dispute resolution (ADR) bodies registered with the MISE, to the European ODR platform (ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr), or to the competent court.Account securityAccess is via a magic link sent by email — there is no password to steal. The session expires after 30 days of inactivity. You can sign out of all active sessions from the "Settings" page of your profile.
